As a Forensic Nursing Specialist for the International Association of Forensic Nurses( IAFN), Diane was responsible for the collaborative development of the U.S. Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women’s, National Protocol for Sexual Abuse Medical Forensic Examinations: Pediatric (Pediatric SAFE Protocol).

Since the release of the Protocol, Diane has been providing technical assistance and training on both the National SAFE Protocol and the Pediatric SAFE Protocol. In this role, she participated in the 2017 revision of the National SAFE Training Standards and was a contributing author to the IAFN’s Pediatric Strangulation Case Review and Assessment Program.

A forensic nurse examiner with extensive experience, including program development and management, she is both online and live trainer for the Indian Health Service and IAFN Adolescent/Adult and Pediatric Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Course as well as a member of the Ohio Attorney General Sexual Assault Response Training Team, a preferred trainer for the Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy, and the Collaborative Initiative to End Human Trafficking.
